I took off as Red 3 to bomb one of the bridges west of Lommel. Very turbulent air conditions but a clear sky. Identified my target easily and performed a good, clean dive down to 3000 ft before lifting the nose and dropping the bombs. Short fuse delay and could hear the loud explosion behind me as I egressed away from the scene. I claim my bridge as destroyed and Red 1 and Red 2 were successful with their target bridges too. Good mission but both myself and Flt Lt Merfort had accidents on landing. | ||
