I flew as Red 2 in a section on escort for Mitchells. Bandits were reported to come in from behind of the bombers. Red 1 ordered to attack but we disengaged as the hun descended. Another bandit closed in and I unfortunately I couldn't evade the attack. My Aircraft severly hit by enemy fire. Dispite a damaged engine I managed to land on Helmond airfield. | ||
