Uneventful egress to patrol area at Veghel where i kept White flight at 20k performing high cover for the group. Happened upon a group of 6 JU-88's which Red and Yellow engaged whilst we covered, Red one cleared us to engage so i dropped us down and fired upon a JU-88 scoring good hits, i continued weaving attack from the rear scoring more good hits. i lost White two during the engagement, he disappeared, during the attack i sustained enemy fire taking hits to my left arm and losing a lot of blood. i found my target again which had been hit several more times by someone else in the flight, i didn't see who as i was covered in claret but i continued to engage the 88, i removed its aileron and killed an engine causing it to dive, i believe i saw the crew bailing out. due to my injuries i had to break for home, making it back and landing the aircraft. | ||
