Transferred to A Flight for a dive-bombing mission on Kelz AF. I was flying as Red-2 in a flight with F/Lt 'Madov' Emblin as lead. We reached Kelz and I heard F/O 'Mac' Steele say that he was hit and was going down. When we were getting into bombing position I saw an Me 262 get onto Madov's 6 o'clock and told him to break. The 262 over-shot and so we dropped our bombs over the airfield. Once we dropped our bombs and while we were trying to regroup I was shot at by another 262 and got lost in the process of evading. The 262 took a few more unsuccessful runs at me but I managed to regroup with Red Flight. We made it back home safely and landed without issue. | ||
