B Flight comprised of myself (wingman) and F/O 'Mac' Steele in the lead, took off from B-77 and headed out for an offensive sweep over the bombline from Gorinchem to Nijmegen. I spotted a bogie just above cloud and I guided us in to ID. I stuck to it's low 6 and it didn't see me coming; and when I got in range had identified it as an FW and opened fire with a short and accurate burst of HIspano 20mm cannon. I saw some hits and F/O 'Mac' Steele confirmed that it was on fire and heading in. Afterwards we supported a few Yank planes in their hunt for a 109 and then headed in back to B-77 for landing. | ||
