General Report | ||
From Ophoven, I was Bumper 3 with F/Lt 'Riksen' Richards leading. Number 2 was F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe and number 4, my own wingman, was P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe . Our objective was to cover a train departing the Venlo area. We encountered heavy enemy action over Venlo where we engaged the enemy. During the engagement, I saw a D9 on F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe six which I swatted away before he could get a shot off. The area was too 'hot' and F/Lt 'Riksen' Richards ordered for us to disengage and head west. On our return, F/Lt 'Riksen' Richards ordered F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe and I to engage a FW-190 heading east from our lines towards Venlo. I got behind him and shot him down swiftly. After our engagement, Bumper was RTB. | ||
